About the Journal
The Turkish Journal of Pediatrics is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal without article processing or submission charges. It is published by Hacettepe University Institute of Child Health, in partnership with the Turkish National Pediatric Society and the International Children’s Center. It has been published since 1958, and available online since 2004.
To increase the visibility and discoverability of the articles, the Turkish Journal of Pediatrics is indexed in BIOSIS Previews, CABI Abstracts (Helminthological Abstracts, Nutrition Abstracts and Reviews Series A, Protozoological Abstracts, Review of Medical and Veterinary Entomology), EMBASE/Excerpta Medica, EBSCOhost (Medline with Full Text), IBIDS (International Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements), ProQuest (Medline, Professional ProQuest Central, ProQuest Health and Medical Complete, ProQuest Medical Library, ProQuest Pharma Collection), PubMed/MEDLINE, Web of Science - Science Citation Index (SCI) Expanded, and Turkiye Citation Index and ULAKBİM TR-Index.
Aim & Scope
Turkish Journal of Pediatrics aims to advance the care of children in Türkiye and all around the globe by providing timely, high-quality scientific papers in the field of clinical pediatrics. It is mainly intended for pediatricians, pediatric residents and pediatric subspecialists, but its readership also includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, pediatric surgeons, dentists, nurses and midwives, dieticians, psychologists, child development specialists, occupational therapists, other health care workers, social workers, researchers and policy makers involved in children’s health.
In line with its these aims, the Turkish Journal of Pediatrics seeks to publish research to advance the field of pediatrics. It publishes original articles, review articles, short communications, case reports, images of the month, correspondence papers and letters to the editor (see “Author Guidelines” and “Article Types” for details). Studies conducted on animal models are outside the scope of the Journal.
Publication Frequency
Turkish Journal of Pediatrics is published bimonthly. The issues are published in February, April, June, August, October and December.
Publication Language
The publication language of the Journal is English. Manuscripts can be submitted in English only. The submitted manuscript should comply with the grammar and spelling rules, and the relevant scientific literature.

The Turkish Journal of Pediatrics is an open access journal. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain copyright of their published article. Open access ensures more reuse and citation, higher visibility and discoverability, greater engagement, immediate impact, increased interdisciplinary work and wider collaboration.
The Turkish Journal of Pediatrics adopts the Open Access Declaration published by the Budapest Open Access Initiative in February, 2002:
“By ‘open access’ to this [research] literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The publisher guarantees not to charge any reader or library a subscription fee and a fee for access to published electronic articles.
