Abstract

Meconium aspiration is one of the important causes of mortality and morbidity in the neonatal period. Recently, advances for preventing meconium aspiration syndrome by the use of fetal monitoring, mechanical ventilation and supportive treatment have decreased the incidences of morbidity and mortality in this syndrome. In this paper, the management of this syndrome is reviewed and recent advances noted.
