Abstract
This is a case report of the clinical, pathological, virological, and post-mortem investigations of a 9 year old girl who was clinically and histopathologically diagnosed as having myocarditis and pericarditis caused by a viral agent. Post-mortem isolation of Echo type 11 virus from only the myocardium using the explant culture technique was performed for the first time in Turkey on this case.
