Abstract

Morphological changes of the pancreas were investigated in 22 necropsy cases of thymic dysplasia. In the majority of cases exocrine pancreas showed cystic acinar dilatation with epithelial atrophy and precipitation of eosinophilic material in their lumina and additional mild interstitial fibrosis. The relation of these pathological findings resembling cystic fibrosis and the absence of an intact thymus has been discussed.
