Abstract
Plasmo hemoglobin and haptoglobin determinations were done simultaneously in 70 cord blood samples. No correlation was found between the plasma hemoglobin levels and the presence or absence of haptoglobin in this period of life. Plasma hemoglobin concentrations were also found to be increased at two weeks and two months of age. Hp 2-2 was more frequently observed in the babies on whom this study was conducted.
