Abstract
The case of an eleven year old girl with congenital afibrinogenemia is reported. There are several possible afibrinogenemic individuals in this family. The fibrinogen levels of both parents were very low. Our patient was given Lyndiol® (an oral contraceptive drug) and her fibrinogen level was increased by more than 100 per cent within one month. The literature about this condition is briefly reviewed.
