We have reviewed briefly the literature of kerosene poisoning and analyzed 142 cases of such poisoning seen at Hacettepe Children's Hospital. Our data suggested that induced or spontaneous vomiting is the major cause of lung complications and that stomach washing does not necessarily decrease the possibility of lung complications.
