An 11 year old male with recurrent episodes of fever, vomiting, abdominal pain and malaise is presented. He was diagnosed as having latent (transient) adrenal insufficiency because of his typical history, the presence of pigmentation and the failure of response to ACTH stimulation, and he was treated with prednisolone. The patient was followed for four years, while under treatment, with complete disappearance of his symptoms.
